  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet Carroll Shelby chili seasoning kit (or equivalent spices: chili powder, cayenne, cumin, paprika)
  • 1 tsp masa flour (optional, for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions

Instructions

  1. Prep the ingredients: Chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  2. Cook the beef: In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. Sauté the aromatics: Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
  4. Combine ingredients: Stir in the tomato sauce, water, and chili seasoning. Mix well.
  5. Simmer: Reduce heat and simmer for 30–45 minutes. Stir occasionally and adjust seasoning.
  6. Thicken: Add masa flour if a thicker consistency is desired. Simmer for another 10 minutes.
